We love a glow. We just stopped getting it from UV.
The problem with UV tanning
A tan from the sun or a tanning bed is your skin reacting to UV damage. The World Health Organization's cancer agency classifies UV-emitting tanning devices as carcinogenic to humans, the same category as tobacco. UV exposure is also a major driver of premature skin aging: wrinkles, sun spots and loss of firmness.
Why spray tans
- No UV. Spray tans use DHA, a color additive that reacts with the top layer of skin to create a temporary tan.
- Controllable. Choose your depth and tone, and time it for the moment.
- Fades on its own in about a week as skin renews.
The trade-offs
Spray tans take prep, a few hours of development and some care, and they don't protect you from the sun. That's why we made The After Set for the "after" part, and why sunscreen still comes first.
